Trip to Alleppy

Alleppy is a small city in Kerala with backwaters. So we planned to visit that place. The journey started from Manglore by train at 5:30 PM. Reached the destination at 4:00 AM and went to the lodge which was reserved for us.

As soon as we finished our breakfast, went for roaming within the city, there we went to a typical Kerala temple. Then as per the schedule at 11:00 AM went for house boating, which was resting just out side the Alleppy city.

The journey of house boating started by confirming safety measures of the boat. The backwater canal was similar to Bangalore M.G. Road, many boats overtaking and in between small boats crossing the river. Many of were busy in taking photos of House boats decorated very nicely to attract tourists.

The boat moved to a lake, where sea birds were busy in fishing, all of us were trying for capturing a very good photo. Some were busy in dancing.

The lunch was arranged in the boat itself, so we all enjoyed the food in backwater. In the journey, we got to know many things about the life at backwaters. In that, interesting one was the public transport boats for the people, who lives in islands.

The boating went up to 5:00 PM, then went Alleppy beach for sunset.

The second day of the trip was planned to visit Ernakulam city. There we went to old Kochi to see Jews Church and Mattanchary Palace. It was a boat trip (Marine drive) to that place.

Many of us went shopping in Kochi, but a few of us stayed near Marine drive and were capturing the people and their life style.

We had  train from Ernakulam North Station at 8:00pm and reached Udupi in the early morning.
